The Yard Food Trip

A new hang-out place near universities and schools in Katipunan area, a food park ala Maginhawa’s StrEAT, Congressional’s Boxpark or Kapitolyos’s Gastro Park, The Yard is worth a try!

Located along Xavierville Ave., Quezon City, The Yard offers a variety of good food and drinks to taste. It’s budget friendly and good for students and yuppies pig-out session or barkada hang-outs.

Like any other food parks, there are different stalls offering specialty dishes. Below are the ones we got to try:

ALL ABOUT FRYDAY

Start the day with some appetizers, All about Fryday’s Sinfully Belly dish is a very good choice. It’s bacon fried like chicken topped with barbecue sauce is so delicious. It’s just simple but super duper yummy (because I love bacon)! Their choices of fries and toppings are next on my list.

FLAT BREAD

Flat bread offers soft, flat, and oblong-shaped bread crusts topped with your choice of ingredients. Tried the basic Cheesy Garlic for only P70.00. It’s good and would make me want to try the others too!

BAGNETO

The Bagnet Kare-kare is a must-try! I am allergic to shrimp paste so the kare-kare sauce should be tasty enough to suit my taste, and it does! I had to wait for 20 minutes but it’s okay since I can get to check out other stalls. The crispy bagnet, the delectable sauce and vegetables, my kare-kare craving has been solved!

HALAL EXPRESS

Hanging out with a Kebab lover, the Halal Express stall quickly caught our eyes. Tried their Chicken Kebab. It’s good but nothing extra-ordinary. Their rice could have been flavored not just colored and their sauce could have been more garlicky. But their Beef Kebab looks delicious, something we could try the next time. The serving is big too!

GULP STATION

Perfectly located in the middle of the food stalls, Gulp Station offers a variety of drinks either for single consumption or to share. May it be soda, juices, mixes, etc., they have it! Their generous serving of drinks are in fish bowls (either small, medium or large), literally for barkada or family sharing! In photo below: the regular Red iced-tea good for 2 for only P70.00. Enough drink for the number of dishes we get to try.

ICE BOX LIQUID NITROGEN ICE CREAM AND DESSERTS

And for dessert… Salted Caramel Chocolate from Ice Box! You can get to watch how your ice cream is made, and they’ll serve your dessert in a dish with that liquid nitrogen smoke effect coming from the small box on top. Cool!

Other stalls to try next time:

Takami

Dip N’ Dough

Milkshake Lab (Tried to order their red velvet shake but it’s out of stock. Must go back!)

Rustic Box Steakhouse

Waff

Chix N Biz

Black Plate

Prawn Star

Tokyo Tempura

The Chippery Fish and Chip Bar (their presentation looks yummy)

El Chapo’s

Wakamojo

Smoke and Barrel

The Subwich Factory

Cafe Fratello (a blockbuster)

Hongkong Foodie Streetfood

Cajita

Asombroso

Little Wondang

Epicure (loving their chairs and tables)

Mac N’ Chicks

Niku-Q

Berliner Grill

Puluts

Kotsehawan

Burn

I definitely will be back!
